I am a classically-trained, professional dancer. I have been through a lot of rigorous physical training, which was very extreme. Every single day I had to wake up and push myself past my own limits—minimum of six hours of practice daily with or without injuries—in order to accomplish my career as a ballet dancer. It was a journey with a beautiful outcome.
We live in a different time where things have become faster but also body-friendly. To push our bodies to the limits (in a healthy way) isn’t quite as brutal anymore. We can achieve what we want easier and sometimes faster with the Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® Methods. These methods not only help improve our natural range of motion but help undo previous damage, prevent future damage, and enable an expansion of increased physical ability. It was through my multiple injuries that I discovered Gyrotonic®, and the results were unexpectedly delightful. This method was able to repair my body to the point it was at before my injuries and gave me physical strength and stability I had not experienced even when I was younger.
There are many dimensions to discover within our own physical ability.
